This new Land Cruiser has come a long way since it was first introduced. This new model boasts luxury a world away from the previous model. Endurance testing included covering more than 1,300,000km across all types of terrain, including altitude trails as high as 3,000m in Costa Rica.
The globe can be conquered in two equally adventure-hungry models. The 4.5 VX V8 Diesel and the 4.7 VX V8 Petrol
A new 4x4 system optimises it's performance in relation to the terrain you're driving on. Driving On-road the hydraulic system locks to increase the stabiliser bar's rigidity which in turn limits body-roll. Off-road the hydraulic system 'opens' to increase the stabilisers bar's flexibility, which in turn increases wheel travel.
A special feature on the petrol engined model is something called CRAWL. Crawl control works like cruise controls, only at much lower speeds. Minimising wheel-lock and spin and increasing ease of drive, safety and stability. Whatever the terrtain this system automatically manages both engine and brakes, maintaining the vehicle at a constant low, steady speed.
A massive and comfortable interior allows for a configuration of either two or three rows of seats, allowing room for up to seven adults, plus plenty of stowage space, numerous bottle and cup holders and even a refrigerated cooler box. As well as a 4-Zone air conditioning system. Up to 28 air outlets ensure a comfortable cabin environment for all passengers.
Some other features include multi-terrain ABS with Electronic Brake Distribution. Vehicle stability control and Active Traction Control.
And absolute safety wherever you may be. There are a total of 10 airbags protecting 14 critical areas including chest and knee protection for the front passenger and driver.
