Studente Staatmaker!!

In my derde jaar het ek egter 'n Toyota Corona gekoop vir R5000.00. Wat n ongelooflike kar was dit nie. Ek het orals gery waar ek wou wees. Elke naweek huistoe (120km), self sover as Upington sonder enige probleme ooit. Winter/somer as ek die sleutel draai het hy gevat !!

The Conquest - A Noble Servant

My grandmother moved to an old age home in 2008. We helped her pack and sort out her house, as it was a big house. We received her red Conquest. We were all very excited about the car, but of course there was some furniture and things that we wanted as well. But how will we get it at our house? We lived more than 400 kms away. I folded the rear seats down, and we started packing. Everything from a bookcase to a half-moon table were in that car! The poor Conquest was stacked to the roof. My mother could barely see out the rear window, but the Conquest brought us and the load safely home!

Bring old Rusty home!

About 7 years ago I met the guy of my dreams. At the time he was driving an old Toyota Conquest -still the block shaped ones. He was madly in love with his car...
I did not share this enthusiasm as the car was literally falling apart. There was a whole in the floor, so when we drove I could see the road. I was really embarrassed when my friends wanted a lift to clubs, because the handbrake never worked, so whenever we went out my boyfriend first had to take the bricks out of the boot so that he can put it behind the tyres to stop the car from rolling while we were out doing our thing.

For my 18th birthday my parents bought me a Toyota Conquest.
I remember how my heart skipped several beats when I saw the shiny red car with the big white ribbon standing in the driveway.
It was one of the best moments in my entire life!
a Couple of years later I sadly had to say goodbye when my boyfriend was involved in an accident and my beloved car was declared a write off :(
To this day I get sad when I think about it. I have such wonderful memories of that car. No car will ever be able to replace that red Toyota Conquest...
