Toyota is the largest producer of TwinCam engines. Toyota offers more TwinCam models than any manufacturer. Here is a brief historical outline to the milestone Toyota engines of the TwinCam variety and the race engines they are based on.

Toyota Fortuner

I have had my Toyota fortuner just over three years now and have never been so happy with a vehicle. I have done various trips to Botswana, Mozambique etc and have had some wonderfull times and lots of memories and stories to tell. However! In the last week a warning light appeared in the dash indicating a problem with the airbags. On Monday, first thing I did was phone my local dealer and enquired about the light. I was immediately told that this is a common problem and as I am out of the initial 3 year warrantee that this would cost me R 1800.00 to repair.

I bought my FORTUNER about two months ago and what a wonderfull car. I am so happy with it, smooth ride, good feul consumption and a lot of space. Taking it to Botswana next week for a hunting trip.

Will never buy a other car than TOYOTA

The best on and off road

On the farm

Well I guess life is about memories....... and well some of my best are on the back of a HILUX

Growing up in DURBAN every holiday we would go and visit my cousins in Melmoth Zululand, and what an awesome time it was... Both my uncles had those light brown Hilux's I guess it was the early 80's and yea 8 cousins on the back of the bakkie .... chewing on sugar cane and biltong ........ life felt so simple .. so safe ...

This is the story of how I found my very rare, 1989 HJ75 Land Cruiser Troopie...

I always wanted a Land Cruiser, ever since I had to deliver one for which I installed a 2 way radio. My dad also drove a few during his career. Man, what a monster. The rumble of the Four Litre Diesel combustion is enough to give any man goosebumps. UNSTOPPABLE. It literally sounds bigger that it looks, but don't let size fool you. Every time I saw a Land Cruiser drive past I would say to my Girlfriend: "There goes my bakkie..." with a distant look in my eye. Then one day...

Minty-Licious!

My grandpa drives a Toyota Corolla.
He loves mint. Seriously. He is obsessed with the minty colour/smell.
His car is white, but the interior is all things mint:

Green seat covers with this ridiculous black mint leave pattern,
a green front loader,
a green steering wheel cover,
white and green seatbelt covers,
minty green carpets
etc.

He even has a mint leave hanging from his rear view mirror
and a mint-flavoured air freshener that he sprays in his car every morning.

Studente Staatmaker!!

In my derde jaar het ek egter 'n Toyota Corona gekoop vir R5000.00. Wat n ongelooflike kar was dit nie. Ek het orals gery waar ek wou wees. Elke naweek huistoe (120km), self sover as Upington sonder enige probleme ooit. Winter/somer as ek die sleutel draai het hy gevat !!

When I was younger

Just down the road from my parents lives a Toyota dealer; Paul.
He often comes home with one of the company cars and every evening my sister and I would walk down the street, just to see which car he brought home this time. Sometimes he would have a new car and he'll take us for a quick spin in it.

One evening, about 15 years ago, there was a Corolla in their driveway. I can't remember the model or anything, but I know that the car was still new and that it was a Corolla. a Metallic green one.

taken in 1992, my profile picture is the current car

My journey with Toyota started in the year i was born (1990). My father bought this Corolla in 1990, The Picture attached was taken in 1992. It is a 1.3L 4speed with now about +-160000km on the clock. My father bought himself another car for his daily driving and gave the Corolla to my mother to transport me and my sister to school and back. I admired the young guys and older gentlemen with their "box shapes”, wanted one so badly when I turned 18, but they are a very rare find, I started looking for a car, watched the classifieds daily for the one that will catch my eye!

We’d like to know, when looking for a new set of wheels, do you test drive the vehicle? :
