Toyota SA Motors goes mobile
Finding the ideal Toyota has become even easier thanks to the introduction of a comprehensive mobile website at www.toyotasa.mobi.
The new mobile website is the next step in a comprehensive online strategy by Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM). As part of the strategy, TSAM has a portfolio which includes a powerful website (www.toyota.co.za) and a stand-alone website for the Toyota's used vehicle division Automark (www.automark.co.za). The Automark website, which is already available in cell phone friendly format at mobi.automark.co.za, lists vehicles of many different makes.
The new mobi-site has been designed and developed to offer many of the benefits of the fully fledged Toyota South Africa website. This includes access to all the vehicles in the South African Toyota range, including information on pricing and specifications for each vehicle on offer.
Other features of the new mobile site includes an active list of Toyota dealers throughout Southern Africa, with Toyota still offering the largest and most comprehensive dealership coverage of South Africa and neighbouring countries
“We have designed the new mobi-site to allow the addition of several new features as they are being developed,” says Pieter Klerck, Senior Manager: Marketing Communications Planning and Advertising at TSAM.
According to Klerck the range of future benefits are vast and the team at Toyota are already testing several value added features and special smart phone-specific applications.
Klerck points to several mobile specific benefits to the new toyotasa.mobi site. This includes special ring tones, picture downloads and video clips of, amongst other things, recent Toyota advertisements featuring Buddy the boxer.
“Despite the more compact nature of a mobi-site we approached the development of the new toyotasa.mobi site in a no-compromise way. This means that customers will experience the full line up of vehicles on offer and even means that they can schedule a test drive of their favourite new Toyota on their mobile phone,” says Klerck.
The new Toyota mobile website is already live at www.toyotasa.mobi, but customers can also type www.toyota.co.za and the digital platform will recognise the fact that a customer is on a mobile device and will reroute him to the new mobi-site.

Die nuwe selfoon-webruimte is die volgende stap in Toyota Suid-Afrika Motors (TSAM) se omvattende digitale strategie. As deel van TSAM se strategie is die maatskappy besig met die ontwikkeling van ’n portfeulje van digitale platforms wat ’n kragtige webruimte insluit (www.toyota.co.za), sowel as ’n losstaande webruimte vir Automark, Toyota se gebruikte voertuig-afdeling (www.automark.co.za).
Die Automark-webruimte is reeds beskikbaar in selfoon-vriendelike formaat by mobi.automark.co.za en voornemende kopers kan hier gaan kyk na ’n rits voertuie van verskeie fabrikate.
Die nuwe kompakte sel-vriendelike Toyota-webruimte is ontwerp om baie van die groter Toyota Suid-Afrika-webruimte se voordele en gemaksfunksies te bied. Dit sluit in toegang tot al die voertuie in die Toyota-reeks, sowel as pryse en spesifikasies vir elke voertuig wat aangebied word.
Ander voordele van die nuwe mobiele webruimte sluit in ’n volledige lys van Toyota-handelaars regdeur suidelike Afrika, synde Toyota steeds die grootste en mees omvattende handelaarsnetwerk in Suid-Afrika en buurlande bied.
“Ons het die nuwe mobiele webruimte sodanig ontwikkel om ons in staat te stel om meer funksies en voordele by te voeg namate dit ontwikkel word,” sê Pieter Klerck, Senior Bestuurder: Bemarkingskommunikasie-beplanning en Advertensies by TSAM.
Volgens Klerck is die reeks toekomstige voordele legio en is die span by Toyota reeds besig om nuwe voordele en spesifieke slimfoon-funksies te ontwikkel.
Klerck verwys na verskeie selfoon-spesifieke voordele op die nuwe toyotasa.mobi-webruimte. Die voordele sluit in luitone, fotos, videos van onder meer Buddy die bokser-hond in Toyota-advertensies.
“Ten spyte van die meer kompakte formaat van die mobi-webruimte het ons dit vanuit die staanspoor ontwikkel as volledige webruimte. As sulks kan voornemende kopers die volledige reeks Toyota-voertuie besigtig en hul kan selfs ’n toetsrit van hul gunsteling Toyota skeduleer op hul selfoon,” sê Klerck.
Die nuwe Toyota mobi-ruimte is reeds aanlyn by www.toyotasa.mobi, maar kopers kan ook www.toyota.co.za van hul selfone besoek en die digitale platform sal self bepaal dat hul ’n selfoon gebruik. Die besoeker sal daarna direk na die mobi-webruimte gestuur word.
