This year’s Toyota Rust de Winter jamboree, the 33nd consecutive year that this event will be held, is indeed special as this popular 4x4 gathering will be celebrating 21 years of on-going support by Toyota South Africa Motors.

To celebrate this milestone Toyota has invited all owners of Toyota 4x4’s which are 21 years or older to be part the celebrations on the weekend of 27 April to 30 April 2012 on the banks of the Elands River – and they will stand a chance to win some handsome prizes as well!

The 2012 Toyota Enviro Outreach project, which started earlier this week at the Klipbokkop Mountain Reserve in the Western Cape and runs until April 27, will this year address one of the biggest ecological challenges in Africa and globally: the invasion and spread of alien species.

Sales of new vehicles, including commercial vehicles and trucks, grew by 6.4% to 52 356 units in February as reported by the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (Naamsa).

“The market continues to outperform the industry’s initial estimates of a stable or even declining total vehicle market in 2012. This is especially true in the commercial vehicle market, where we see a continuation of the momentum that started to pick up towards the end of 2010 and which has continued throughout 2011,” says Dr Johan van Zyl, President and CEO of Toyota South Africa Motors.
