My FJ Cruiser Ambassador experience was an awesome one. I really enjoyed it and am rather sad that it is all over.
We were lucky enough to be sent to Cape Town to be at the J&B Met.
It was great that we were able to drive around in the FJ Cruiser in Cape Town. I still love that car. It definitely suits Cape Town, although I did notice there were fewer of them around than in Johannesburg. So we once again got the attention of other drivers on the road as well as pedestrians.
We were put up in one of the oldest and most beautiful hotels in Cape Town, The Vineyard. We could not have stayed in a better hotel. The location was absolutely perfect. When we arrived the front desk staff were so friendly and even upgraded us to one of the best suites in the hotel.
We shared a seven-course meal at Myoga restaurant, which set the standard for the weekend. I have eaten at some fantastic restaurants all over the world and I can honestly say that this was the best one I have ever had.
Craig and I had a great day at the J&B Met. I have never been to any horse race before so it was all rather new and fun. It was nice to have somewhere to sit out of the heat of the sunshine in the hospitality tent and the open bar was great! We betted on a few horses, watched some of the races and generally had a lovely day. I really enjoyed seeing all the beautiful outfits that the women (and men) were wearing.
All in all we had a really awesome time!

Toyota have long tradition of high performance vehicles which also belongs to the 4x4 world. The FJ cruiser is one of the few trucks that has the capability to ride on all types of road conditions. The raw power of the engine and its fuel efficiency match with its chassis will surely be a vehicle worthy owned as a daily driver. The styling of the exterior including the smallest details like the Truck Mirrors - Side View are specially designed for aerodynamic efficiency.
The FJ Cruiser is such an awesome car for off-roading and its retro look was probably perfect for Capetown. Sounds like a great time and experience!
I'm a big fan of the FJ cruiser as an off-road vehicle, but is it true that Toyota is canceling/discontinuing it? I read on TacomaHQ that it was going to be canceled in the next two or three years?
